Mentorship Program for American Medical Student Association

In the Spring of my senior year I took part in the Mentorship Program for the American Medical Student association. I acted as a guide for freshman and sophomore students who were inspired to go to medical school to become a doctor. This included how to prepare for the mcat, providing study tools, advising how to gain access to research opportunities, clinical experience, and volunteer experience. I would also assist them in deciding what classes to enroll in that would enhance their performance on the mcat and prepare them for medical school.

Peer-Led Team Learning Leader at FIU

In Summer of 2021, I attended weekly meetings with students through zoom for evolution class. My responsibilities included guiding them through questions while they provide the answers. Our goal was to help them gain a better understanding of the material, monitoring the pltl quizzes, and providing feedback to discussion boards.

Flagg Laboratory of Tropical Genetics

For the last several semesters I have aided in the FLagg Laboratory of Tropical Genetics. It was an opportunity to help Doctor Matthew J. DeGennaro with his project on Vector Ecology of Aedes aegypti in South Florida. My responsibilities included collecting mosquitos in different areas of South Florida.
